The Chaparrals picked up their 20
th victory on the season Monday, sweeping rival Waubonsee 12-6 and 14-3 in 5 innings in Region IV baseball.

COD, which swept the season series against the Chiefs, takes its 20-10 overall record and 3-4 N4C slate into Thursday's doubleheader at Harper. The first game will count toward conference records and the second is a nonconference game.

Game 1: Chaps 12, Waubonsee 6
The Chaps, who found themselves behind 4-0 through two innings, got going with a pair of runs in the third, and then put the game on ice with five runs in both the fourth and sixth.
Lucas Hansen drove in two in the third with a single to left that cut the deficit in half. Then in the fifth and down 5-2, the Chaps got control with a five-run, three-hit and four WCC errors. They sent 11 to the plate. Three of the runs scored on errors and
Kyle Fenner provided a two-run single to center. In the sixth,
Cam Bailey singled to left that scored two, and one batter later,
Jason Cousineau connected on an RBI-triple. Hansen led with three hits and
A.J. Taylor, Bailey and
David Marshall each had two hits. On the mound,
Justin Lane improved to 3-0 by striking out five in four innings for the win. Relievers
Joe Titone and
Luke Schwab combined to throw three innings of scoreless relief.

Game 2: Chaps 14, Waubonsee 3 5 innings
Starter
Seth Borden faced just 20 batters and threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts, while the Chaps' bats connected on 13 hits for the sweep.
Nolan Pomatto drilled a three-run homer to left and finished with four RBI. Taylor and
Carson Roberts each had two-run singles in the second. Taylor and
Anthony Perez each had three hits, while Taylor finished with three RBI.
Joe Cosenza doubled twice.
