Pete Trunk begins his second season as an assistant coach for the men’s lacrosse program in 2025.
An Arlington Heights native, Trunk played lacrosse and later coached under current Chaps head coach Bill Sanford at St. Viator. He played at the Division I level at Rutgers University and completed his collegiate career at Illinois Wesleyan University where he earned all-conference honors in 2018. He served as an assistant coach (2019-21), where the Titans won four conference titles and reached the NCAA Elite 8 in 2021.
After graduating in 2021 from Illinois Wesleyan with a bachelor’s degree in business, he continued coaching high school and youth club teams. He helped direct the Hinsdale Herd, a youth program that began in 2022. He also served on staff at Hinsdale Central High School in 2023.
