Cait Elwart joined the Chaparrals athletic training department in the fall of 2024.

The Plainfield native has spent most of her professional career in orthopaedics physician practice and her background includes positions with Northwestern Medicine, Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush and Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago.

Her specialty is in orthopaedics and she is licensed as an athletic trainer and orthopaedic technologist.

Cait initially attended college on a music performance scholarship and then earned her bachelor’s degree in athletic training from Northern Illinois University. She will receive her master’s degree in human anatomy from NIU in spring of 2025. She worked as an undergraduate with the NIU baseball and football programs, and also worked as an intern athletic trainer for D1 football at the University of South Florida in Tampa.

She has a history of being a competitive athlete in basketball, golf, and ice hockey and actively is a competitive horseback rider. She and her husband and two young daughters share a home with their dogs and cat in Yorkville.
