Ryan Connell begins his 15th season as head coach of the Chaparrals and 16th in the program in 2022.

His teams place an emphasis on the fundamentals and success has not been far behind. The Chaparrals have won four Region IV titles with Connell as head coach, and once as an assistant (2007).  The Chaparrals finished as the national finalist in 2009 and 2011. His teams have won 30 or more games six times and the Chaparrals have had eight winning seasons. He is a four-time Region IV Coach of the Year (2008-09, 2011-12) and 15 All-Americans have played under his tutelage.

Connell and his wife Marianne are the parents of sons Drew and Sean and the family makes its home in Woodridge.
