GLEN ELLYN — Jessica Jnobaptiste and
Bethany Imlah each contributed double-doubles, but visiting Harper answered back in the second half and dealt the Chaparrals a 41-39 loss in N4C women's play Saturday afternoon.
Bethany on the boards
Imlah scored 13 points — 10 in the first half — and pulled down a game-high 17 rebounds for the Chaparrals, now 3-14 overall and 0-3 in the N4C. She was 5 of 17 from the field with three 3-pointers in 35 minutes.
Jumpin' Jessica
Jnobaptiste led the Chaparrals with 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, all on the defensive end. She also hawked Harper with a season-high eight steals and played all but five seconds.
The turning point
The Chaparrals led by as many as nine points with 7:17 remaining in the third quarter. The Hawks (3-14, 1-3) made their run in the fourth quarter with 8:03 left. The Chaps held a 33-28 lead on an Imlah 3-pointer. The Hawks responded on a 14-3 run over the next 7 ½ minutes for the win.
