Quick strike attack

Box Score The month of October appeals to the Chaparrals, who routed visiting McHenry County College 5-0 in Region IV men's soccer Thursday afternoon at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.

The Chaps won their fourth straight and secured the victory with two goals in a 16-second span to improve to 6-8 overall. They play next at Kennedy-King on Saturday. Kickoff is 1 p.m.

Leading 1-0, thanks to Sebastian Nimako's goal in the 16th minute, teammate Eduardo Gomez snapped one into the net in the 33rd minute. Then 16 seconds later, Best Emena scored one of his own and the Chaps were well in command.

Javier Lujan and Emena each scored in the second half.

The Chaps have now totaled 17 goals during their winning streak, while allowing only one goal in that stretch.

GK Mario Giase had one save.

Sophomores Emena, Nimako, Sean O'Leary, Emrah Sujanovic,  Misael Parra and Bryce Kent played in their final regular-season home game.
