Shoot out ends Chaps' season

MADISON, Wis. (Oct. 23, 2019) — A valiant effort by the Chaps ended short Wednesday night in their NJCAA Region IV women's soccer quarterfinal game against Madison.

The game was tied at 1-1 through two overtimes and went into a shoot-out in which the host WolfPack won 4-3 and ended the Chaps' season.

A McKayla Garcia first-half goal gave the Chaps the lead until Madison tied the game in the 48th minute.

Goalkeeper Lauren Diddia had nine saves including a PK save in the second OT.

"We had a dramatic ending to a really challenging season,'' Chaps head coach Zac Ludwig said. "We are really proud of our players rising to the challenge both tonight against a very strong Madison team and throughout the season.
