Jaylyn Grant exhibited her ability in outstanding form Thursday night, scoring a game-high 30 points with 12 rebounds in the Chaparrals' 65-47 victory over visiting Truman in Region IV women's basketball.

The Westmont freshman hit 12 of 25 shots and created five steals with two assists and one block in 40 minutes of play.
 
She can carry a Lod
Nichele Lodree joined Grant in double figures with 11 points and nine boards. She had three blocks with three assists.
 
About the game
The Chaps never trailed and never let the lead get lower than eight points in the second half. Their largest lead of the game was 43-24 on a Lodree field goal with 5:34 left in the third quarter.
 
What's next?
The Chaps (1-1 overall) are at Richard J. Daley College on Saturday. Tipoff is noon. They return home Nov. 14 against Kennedy-King.
