College of DuPage played its most complete game of the season on both ends of the court and secured its first victory of the season with a 62-51 win over Kishwaukee College in NJCAA Region IV men's play Tuesday night.
Â
The Chaps, now 1-7 overall, were led by
Latron Kirkwood's 19 points. Two others scored in double figures —
Evan Wagner-Talley with 12 and
Patrick Shaughnessy 11 — as the Chaps also posted a season-best nine turnovers.
Â
Key moment
The Chaps, who led 32-26 at the break, went nearly the first five minutes scoreless in the second half and the visiting Kougars pushed their lead to 36-32 with 14:14 remaining.
Khyre Hines broke the streak and the game remained one possession for the next six minutes. But a 6-0 spurt put the Chaps in control 53-46 with 4:12 left.
Â
Good job guys
Hines finished with eight points and reserves
Abram Ross and Mohammad Totten did a nice job of the bench with six points apiece.
Â
What's next?
The Chaps are off for finals and return Dec. 17 when they play at Moraine Valley.
