Make it 6 straight

MILWAUKEE — The winning streak has reached six straight for the Chaparrals, who swept Milwaukee Area Technical College, 5-4 and 7-1 in N4C Conference baseball Saturday afternoon.

The Chaps, who have won 10 of their last 11 games, take their 19-12-1 overall record and 7-1 conference slate into Tuesday's conference doubleheader at Joliet

Game 1
The key of the game came in the seventh inning with two outs. Dan Opem tied the game at 4-4 with a run-scoring double that brought in Corey Vondra. Two batters later, Jack Howard delivered a single to center that scored pinch-runner Joshua Veroeven and the Chaps had their lead. Ian Pickell faced just four batters in the seventh to close out the save. Reliever Anthony Hernandez earned the win. Starter T.J. Jaros struck out four in five innings.

Game 2
Trailing 1-0 through five innings, the Chaps took the lead in the sixth, thanks to Opem's sac fly and Peter Sedlacek, who scored on a wild pitch. The Chaps took command with a five-run seventh for the win. Vondra ripped a bases-clearing double in the seventh and Opem added another RBI on a single to center. Sedlacek and Simon Marinelli each had two hits. Jonny Vesevick went six innings and struck out four and gave up four hits for the win.
