The Chaparrals moved to 3-1 in the N4C Conference on Saturday after their doubleheader split at Rock Valley College.

Jonny Vesevick threw 5 1/3 innings with three strikeouts and three walks while scattering five hits for the victory.
Peter Sedlacek provided all the excitement and energy the Chaparrals needed, hitting an inside the park grand slam that capped a five-run fifth inning.

Dan Opem added a run-scoring single that brought in
Corey Vondra for the Chaps' final run.

T.J. Jaros was the only Chaparral with multiple hits, going 2-for-3.

In the nightcap, the Chaps (13-12-1 overall) scored three runs on three hits in the sixth to tie the game. Jaros and Sedlacek drove in runs on singles, and
Kyle Ferguson delivered a ground ball that gobbled up the third baseman, scoring Jaros.
