ROCKFORD — The Chaps closed their weekend play at the McHenry County Invite, losing to 3-1 to Waubonsee College and 3-0 to Sauk Valley College on Saturday.
The Chaps take their 0-5 record into Tuesday night's match against visiting Malcolm X College. First serve is 6 p.m.
Against Waubonsee (13-25, 9-25, 26-24, 11-25),
Natalie Payne led the Chaps with four kills.
Brili Presbrey and
Mikayla Wassell each had three, with nine assists from
Melody Raices. Wassell led in aces with three and
Maddie Shulski had two. Presbrey had a season-high three solo blocks, while
Kiara Negron had six digs.
Against Sauk Valley (23-25, 17-25, 17-25), Presbrey and Wassell broke through with 10 kills each as COD totaled 30 kills. Raices dealt 26 assists and Wassell and Negron each had two aces. Shulski led in digs with eight and Wassell seven.
