The Chaps grabbed control of its season-opener against host Bryant and Stratton on Saturday, earning a 2-1 win in Region 4 men's soccer.
 
Eduardo Gomez scored on a PK after the Bobcats committed a hand ball in the box. Then, Sebastian Nimanko scored off a through ball from Misael Parra for what turned-in-to the difference maker.
 
Goalkeeper Kiran Sandiford earned the start and had three saves before conceding a late deflection in the final 15 minutes of play.
 
The Chaps make their home debut Thursday night against South Suburban. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
