Late rally costs Chaps

Box Score Visiting South Suburban rallied late, scoring with just 66 seconds remaining in regulation, and then added the game-winner in double OT in its 2-1 win over the Chaparrals in Region IV men's soccer at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium on Thursday night.

The Chaps, now 1-1 overall, are off until Sept. 10 when they play at Kishwaukee.

Misael Parra gave the Chaps a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute when he drew the South Suburban GK out front and lofted a shot up and over for the lead.

But the Bulldogs, who out-shot the Chaps 21-7 for the game, controlled the ball throughout most of the second half. In fact, the Chaps totaled just two shots after halftime.

For SSC, Roberto Coria scored the game-tying goal on a header. In 2OT, Theo Tandja earned the golden goal in the 107th minute.
