Frankie Klemm struck out seven in a complete-game effort, but the Chaps mustered just two hits in a 4-1 loss to host St. Louis Community College in Sunday's series doubleheader finale.

COD, now 2-4 overall, is scheduled to play at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids this weekend, beginning with a doubleheader Saturday that begins at noon.

Klemm allowed just four hits in his 85-pitch outing. All four runs were earned.

Cliff Vickers and
Cam Bailey were the only Chaps with a hit. They scored their only run when
Anthony Perez scored on an error in the third.

Game 2: St. Louis CC 10, Chaparrals 0
Vickers and
Luke Miller each singled, but it wasn't enough as the Archers scored three runs in the first, four in the third and three in the fifth in a game called in the fifth.

Zak Fischer had three strikeouts in earning the start. He threw two innings.
Jack Nilles had two strikeouts in 1 1/3 innings of relief.
