Chaps finish 27-24

Nick Fushi and Anthony Perez each hit two-run home runs, but it wasn't enough as the Chaparrals concluded the 2021 season in a 10-4 loss to Joliet Junior College in Region 4 play Saturday at Oakton.
 
The Chaps finished 27-24 overall.
 
COD led 2-1 after Fushi's shot in the second and held the lead through five innings. Joliet broke through with a three-run sixth inning and iced the win with a six-run ninth.
 
The Chaps had just five hits — two from Steven Saldino, and the other from Jack Oberli.
 
Starter Nick Stacey threw a gutty 5.1 innings. He was charged with fourth runs, all earned, and struck out two with seven hits.
