Improving Chaps shut out South Suburban, 2-0

Box Score The Chaps played their most complete game of the 2021 season Wednesday night with a 2-0 win over South Suburban at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.
 
Goals by Rian Bautista and Blazo Jovicevic, and stellar goalkeeping from Juan Hernandez improved the Chaps to 3-2 overall and snapped the Bulldogs' six-game winning streak.
 
"We've improved every game,'' Chaps head coach Zac Ludwig said. "That's a really good team we defeated tonight. We displayed a high degree of discipline tonight. I thought our defense was very strong and supported Juan very well.''
 
Batista gave the Chaps a 1-0 lead when he scored on a free kick from about 35 yards out in the 36th minute. Jovicevic corralled a loose ball and drilled a shot from the right side in the 52nd minute.
 
Hernandez totaled an impressive 14 shots and came up big time-and-again in the second half.
 
The Chaps are at Milwaukee Area TC on Saturday.
 
South Suburban dropped to 7-3.
