Jacob Larson found the back of the net for the Chaparrals, but it wasn't enough in their 2-1 loss to visiting Madison in N4C and Region 4 men's soccer Thursday afternoon.
 
Larson scored in the 67^th minute for the Chaps, who are 4-3 heading into Thursday's game at Waubonsee.
 
The loss marked the first game this season that the Chaps did not score multiple goals.
 
Still, head coach Zac Ludwig found enough from his team to take away positive efforts.
 
"We didn't play poorly,'' he said. "There's a lot to take away. We played physical and stepped it up on both ends. We created offensive chances. And we defended well. That's a respected team and we'll learn from it.''
