Four unanswered goals were the difference makers as the Chaps have found their offensive power with a 4-1 win over Madison in N4C and Region 4 women's play Wednesday afternoon.
Â
The Chaps, now 3-5 overall, have scored more goals in their last two games as their first six games combined. They defeated Elgin 6
-2 last Friday.
Â
"Today was our most complete game of the season,'' head coach
Zac Ludwig said. "We didn't let little mistakes bother us. And we kept the pressure on, especially with a four-goal second half.
Â
Elle Strauch tied the game at 1-1 in the 23
rd minute on an unassisted goal and the score remained tied until
Morgan Clifford came through on a long goal in the 58
th minute on a pass from
Fran Ottolino.
Jaz Barriga scored in the 61
st minute on a free kick, and
Summer Garcia finished off the Wolfpack with a goal in the 75
th minute from
AnnMarie Ahrens.
Â
Ludwig credited Ahrens with her fine passing throughout.
Â
"AnnMarie set up Summer extremely well,'' he said. "She really anchored the middle the entire game.
Â
GK
Madelyn McGuire allowed just the one goal and had four saves in 90 minutes.
Â
The Chaps are at Rock Valley on Saturday.
