The Chaparrals utilized well-balanced scoring, led by 
Mykah Berkompas and 
Makenna Brown in a 78-67 victory over visiting Madison College in Region 4 women's play Tuesday night.
 
Berkompas led with a game-high 27 points and Brown followed with 21 as the Chaps improved to 3-8 overall and 1-2 in the N4C. Madison dropped to 2-14 overall.
 
COD led for most of the game and took control in the first quarter. Down 11-9, a Berkompas 3-pointer keyed a 7-0 spurt. A 
Marquita Gardner basket inside gave the Chaps a 16-11 lead with 2:17 left and the Chaps never trailed again.
 
Jessica Ponce drained a 3-pointer in the closing moments of the first half and COD led 42-31 at the break.
 
The Chaps pushed the lead to double-digit lead for most of the third and the entire fourth quarters.
 
Berkompas was 10 of 22 from the floor and scored three 3-pointers. Brown followed up her 21 points with 16 rebounds, and dealt eight assists with two blocks.
 
Gardner had 12 points and Ponce eight. 
Morgan Nesemeier had seven and Korianna Wilson three.
 
Thursday's game at Harper has been postponed due to COVID. The Chaps next play Saturday at Kishwaukee.
 
Olivia Marron led the WolfPack with 22 points.
