An improved second half and strong work off the glass were a pair of positives for the Chaparrals in their 75-55 loss at Kishwaukee College in Region 4 women's play Saturday afternoon.
 
Mykah Berkompas led the Chaps with 20 points and 
Makenna Brown added 15 points with a season-high 25 rebounds as COD dropped to 3-9 overall heading into Tuesday night's game at Milwaukee Area TC.
 
COD struggled in the first half and fell behind by double digits for good late in the first quarter. The Chaps hit 8 of 31 from the field and trailed 43-19 at halftime.
 
In the second half, COD outscored the Kougars 36-32, thanks to their 23-point fourth-quarter outburst. Off the glass, they outrebounded Kishwaukee, 55-47.
 
Berkompas played 39 minutes and was 8 of 23 shooting with four 3-pointers. Brown hit 6 of 20 shots and included 12 offensive boards with eight assists. 
Marquita Gardner added nine point, 
Korriana Wilson seven and 
Morgan Nesemeier four.
 
Olivia Lambrigtsen led the Kougars (12-6 overall) with 21.
