The 2022-23 women's basketball season is off-and-running, as sophomore All-Region guard Mykah Berkompas scored 17 points in the Chaparrals' 100-45 loss at Oakton on Thursday night.
 
Teammate Katlyn Allen added 13 points in the loss, as COD fell behind early and could not catch up against the host Owls.
 
Berkompas was 6 of 12 from the field and hit all four free throws, while Allen hit six free throws and led the Chaps in rebounds with nine.
 
Serenity McDaniel added six points and Sierra Gibson four points.
 
The Chaps struggled controlling the ball as they finished with 36 turnovers.
 
COD next plays at Triton on Saturday afternoon and makes its home debut Tuesday afternoon against Waubonsee.
