William Anderson. His Chaps found themselves trailing 30-29 on Sophomore Night against a team in search of its first victory of the season.

The Chaps responded with a flourish, firing off 13 unanswered points to begin the half as they went on to defeat the Hawks 80-63 in Region 4 basketball Tuesday night.

COD closed the regular season 7-16 as it opens Region 4 tourney play Friday night at Joliet. Tipoff is 7 p.m.

Drew Gaston scored 24 second-half points and finished with 32 as the Chaps shot a sizzling 69 percent from the field on 20 of 29 shooting in the final 20 minutes.
