Marquita Gardner gave the Chaparrals sound inside play with a team-high 22 points to lead four Chaps in double figures in their 80-61 loss to visiting Joliet in Region 4 women's play Tuesday night.

The Chaps (3-12 overall) play the second game in three days Thursday at Madison, and wrap-up the week at home Saturday against Milwaukee Area TC.

COD played neck-and-neck against the Wolves and were tied at 30 with 2:29 left in the first half, thanks to
Mykah Berkompas' basket.

The Wolves led 38-32 at the break, and then pulled away by leading by double digits the entire fourth quarter.

Berkompas and
Makenna Brown each scored 11 points and
Korriana Wilson added 10.
Morgan Nesemeier contributed five points and
Jessica Ponce finished the Chaps' scoring with two.

Brown led the Chaps in rebounds with 11 and was 7-of-7 on free throws.

Elisa Dunlap and Allasha Alexander each scored a game-high 21 for Joliet.
