Box Score Miguel Vargas delivered the upper-hand for the Chaps, scoring the game's only goal in the 48^th minute in a 1-0 victory over visiting Joliet Junior College in men's soccer Wednesday night at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.
 
The win lifted COD to a 1-3 record heading into Saturday night's home contest against McHenry County. Kickoff is 6 p.m.
 
Vargas earned the goal with an assist credited to Francisco Hernandez.
 
"Tonight was our most consistent game of the year,'' head coach Zac Ludwig said. "We grinded out a win when we really needed one.''
 
Goalkeeper Daniel Villanueva earned the shutout, going the distance collecting three saves.
