On a sloppy, rainy Saturday afternoon, visiting College of DuPage fell short in a hard-fought 1-0 loss at Kankakee in Region 4 men's soccer.
 
The Chaps, now 4-5-4 overall, are at Kishwaukee on Wednesday and return home Saturday on Sophomore Day against Madison. Kickoff is 11:30 a.m.
 
COD out-shot Kankakee 6-1 in the first half, but could not deliver a goal. The host Cavaliers broke the 0-0 tie with the game's only goal in the 55^th minute.
 
The teams were even in the second half with seven shots each.
 
Sam Negus had three saves in the 90-minute game.
