Chaps finish trip with 4-2 record

College of DuPage completed its spring trip to Myrtle Beach, S.C, on Sunday and finished on a successful 4-2 trip.
 
The Chaparrals begin Region 4 play at home Thursday afternoon when they take on South Suburban at Sark Park. First pitch is 3 p.m.

The fellow Region 4 Cougars scored five runs in the sixth for the victory. For COD, it collected eight hits, thanks to Lindsey Onnezi's three-hit game. She also drove in a run. Amber Dasenbrock accounted for the other RBI. Dasenbrock struck out six in the start.
 
Chaps 14, SUNY. Adirondack 4
Leading 7-1 after three innings, the Chaps broke the game open with a seven-run fourth. Onnezi totaled three RBI and Kayla Smiley added two. Dasenbrock tripled and Baker and Onnezi each had a double. Carlee Baker had three hits. Paige Jahaske picked up the win with three strikeouts and gave up only three hits.
 
West Virginia Potomac 15, Chaps 7
Leading 5-0 after four, WVP scored its 15 runs in the final three innings for the victory. Raquel Procopio led with two of COD's seven hits. Onnezi reached base on three walkes.
 
COD then finished the week with an 8-7 win over Alpena Community College.
