Alyssa Havard scored a team-high 15 points and Sierra Gibson added 13, but defending NJCAA D3 champion and top-ranked Owens Community College held the advantage throughout and handed the Chaps a 76-47 loss in the Great Lakes District title game Saturday afternoon in Perrysburg, Ohio.
 
Owens (19-5 overall) took control from the outset and the Region 4 champion Chaps faced a double-digit deficit throughout most of the game.
 
Havard hit 5 of 12 from the field, with three 3-pointers and grabbed eight rebounds with three steals. Gibson was 5 of 15 shooting and led in steals with four.
 
The Chaps ended their season 15-16 overall with their first regional championship in 15 seasons under first-head coach Abigail Talley.
