Chaps bats stay hot

The wins keep coming for coach Bobby Wilson's Chaparrals, who improved to 5-2 Thursday morning with a 7-1 win over Penn State Schuylkill in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
 
COD finishes Thursday against Northampton, and then completes their trip Friday against Henry Ford CC and Mercer County.
 
Tied at 1-1 through four innings, COD broke the game open against PSS with three runs in the fifth and sixth for the victory.
 
David Marshall's two-run single keyed the fifth innings, and COD scored two unearned runs in the sixth.
 
Marshall had three RBI, while Sebastian Edenhofer had a pair of singles.
 
Connor Chapulis struck out seven in six innings for the victory. Evan Ryan threw an inning of scoreless relief.
 
Chaparrals 13, Rochester 3
 
Trailing 3-0 in the first, COD stopped the threat immediately and went on to defeat Rochester Community College on. Wednesday.
 
The Chaparrals cut the lead to 3-2 after one, and in the second, they sent 12 batters to the plate, scoring six runs on seven hits and never looked back.
 
Aden Aukland's two-run triple in the second highlighted the inning, and David Marshall went 2-for-4, with a two-run double in the third.
 
A.J. Taylor and Sebastian Edenhofer each had three hits.
 
Brady Friend scattered six hits with two strikeouts. Relievers Evan Ryan and Joe Titone combined on two scoreless innings.
