No. 10 Chaps dealt sweep

No. 10 College of DuPage was dealt a setback Monday afternoon, losing both games of a doubleheader against College of Lake County.

The Chaps, now 14-6 overall, play host to Oakton on Thursday with first pitch at 3 p.m.

Game 1: Lake County 13, Chaparrals 2 5 innings
  • Lake County scored in every inning to win in 5 innings
  • Sierra Gibson and Olivia Terek were the only Chaps who earned a hit — both singles
  • Abby Collins scored on a wild pitch in the first inning
  • Terek's single in the fourth drove in Carlee Baker, who reached base on a one-out walk
Game 2: Lake County 12, Chaparrals 11
  • Baker had three hits, including a 2-run, inside-the-park home run down the right-field line in the second
  • Trailing 12-9 in the seventh, the Chaps fell short in their comeback attempt. Paige Jahaske hit a two-run triple over the center fielder, driving in Katlyn Allen and Baker, who each reached base on singles
  • Lake County, which trailed 7-4, took control with a six-run, six-hit fourth inning
