Barry Froehle and the Chaparrals took a pair from N4C and Region 4 rival Joliet Junior College on Tuesday afternoon and earned the top seed in next month's NJCAA D3 Great Lakes District tournament.
The Chaps, now 22-7 overall,
defeated the Wolves 10-7 and 11-5 and own an eight-game winning streak heading into Thursday's doubleheader at Prairie State.
The District tournament is May 12-13 at COD's Sark Park.
The Chaps own the Region 4's top seed and the double-elimination tournament sends the champion on to the NJCAA Championship, scheduled for May 24-27 in DeWitt, N.Y.

- The Chaps extended their lead with a five-run fifth
