Chaps' furious rally falls short at Joliet

College of DuPage staged a furious rally Wednesday, scoring three times in the final eight minutes of play but it wasn't enough in a 4-3 loss at Joliet in Region 4 men's soccer.

The Chaps, now 1-3-3 overall, return home Wednesday afternoon against Triton. Kickoff is 4 p.m.

The Wolves built a 2-0 lead with two free kicks at halftime, and then added two more goals early in the second half and seemed to have comfortable cushion.

However, Chaps' leading scorer Archie Murphy broke through with an unassisted goal in the 82nd minute. And then one minute later, Jacob Sarabia found Erwin Morales, who earned a successful strike and the Chaps trailed 4-2 with seven minutes remaining.

Sarabia added pressure to the Wolves' lead with an unassisted goal in the 88th minute.

Goalkeeper Sam Negus had eight saves and Murphy totaled three shots with two on goal.
