Asa Potts scored two goals and the Chaparrals remained in control throughout their 3-1 victory over visiting Illinois Valley in Region 4 women's soccer Wednesday night.
 
The victory places COD at 5-6-1 overall and 5-5-1 in Region play entering Sunday afternoon's game at Rock Valley.
 
The Chaps and Eagles matched up well over the opening 35 minutes until COD broke through. Mariel Lara put COD up 1-0 on an unassisted goal, and one minute later, Potts was on the receiving end from Lara and scored and the Chaps went into halftime leading 2-0.
 
The shutout bid ended just five minutes into the second half, but Potts padded the lead on another unassisted goal at the 75^th minute.
 
COD fired off 12 shots-on-goal and goalkeeper Corinne Myket had four saves.
