The College of DuPage men's soccer team traveled to Madison, Wisconsin, to take on top-seeded Madison College in the Region IV tournament quarterfinal. The eighth-ranked Chaparrals were shutout by the undefeated WolfPack, 2-0 on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Madison applied pressure from the opening whistle, finding the back of the net within the first two minutes of play. DuPage's defense was steady for the bulk of the game but couldn't mount an offensive attack. The score remained unchanged until Madison capitalized again with five minutes remaining in regulation to go ahead by two.Â
Goalkeeper Diego Ochoa registered six saves on eight shots on goal from Madison. Jason Hufnagle provided the lone shot on goal for the Chaps.
DuPage ends the season 10-5-2. It was the program's first 10-win season since 2017 and its first postseason appearance since 2022. The result capped a turnaround from just one season ago, when DuPage finished 6-10-1. It marks the conclusion of Matt Hanna's first season as the head coach of the men's program.
