COD places second in Daktronics / NJCAA Cup

The Chaparrals, behind five NJCAA team championships in 2024-25, finished second among all NJCAA Scholarship Division programs in the Ron Case Cup presented by Daktronics competition for overall program excellence in two-year colleges, which is organized by the National Alliance of Two-Year College Athletic Administrators (NATYCAA).

The Chaparrals, who compete in all but two sports in the NJCAA Division III (non-scholarship) division, won D3 team titles in football, men's cross country, men's track and field, men's volleyball and women's track and field.

COD totaled 165 points and qualifies for the scholarship division with its men's and women's basketball programs.

Iowa Western Community won the NJCAA Scholarship title with 179.5 points.

Mount San Antonio College of Walnut, Calif., won the Learfield Cup Director's Cup for Two-Year Colleges. COD finished fourth with 165 points.

COD won the Daktronics title in 2021 and 2023. The Chaps also won the Learfield Cup in 2023.
