The 4th annual Chappys

The Chaparrals honored the 2024-25 season with their fourth annual Chappy Awards on May 13.

Track and field's Tim McMiller was named Male Athlete of the Year. The Bolingbrook native was a four-time All-American sprinter and helped COD win NJCAA Division III titles in both seasons with the Chaps; pushing COD's consecutive team title streak to five. He ran on the winning 4 x 100 relay and finished second in the 100 m during this month's nationals.

Sophomore track and field All-American Ellie Logsdon was named Female Athlete of the Year. The Genoa native was an 11-time All-American during her career and won seven NJCAA D3 titles. She was this past season's most outstanding athlete at nationals, where she won the 100, 400, 400 hurdles and ran legs on winning 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays.

Football's Justin Bland was this year's Male Newcomer of the Year. The Carol Stream native led the Chaps to their fourth straight NJCAA title, while earning the offensive player of the year. He ranked No. 1 in yards (3,114), completions (184), attempts (292), completion percentage (63%), yards per game (283.1), touchdowns (37) and passing efficiency (191)

Softball's Addison Brandl earned the Female Newcomer of the Year. The Plainfield native finished the season with a 13-7 W-L record, throwing 103.1 innings and earning a 4.27 ERA in 24 appearances and 19 starts. She also hit .518 (29 for 56) with two HRs, 20 RBI and four doubles.

This marked the first year that Chaparral student-athletes voted for the Chappys (on-field categories).
