Men's Soccer adds 6th win of season in 4-2 victory over Waubonsie

Landato hat trick spurs DuPage to victory

The College of DuPage men's soccer team capitalized on its scoring chances Friday night, Sept. 19, defeating Waubonsie Community College 4-2 at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.

Luis Gutierrez, who has now scored in back-to-back matches for the Chaps, opened the scoring in the 18th minute. Dominic Landato then took over, recording a hat trick with goals in the 25th, 55th, and 65th minutes to give COD full control of the match. Gutierrez assisted on two of Landato's goals, while Peter Nitecki set up the other.

The Chaps were efficient in front of the opposing net, converting 4 of their 6 shots on goal. On the other end, goalkeeper Sam Eaton delivered a strong performance, making 5 saves on 7 Waubonsie shots.

"I thought the men played probably their most complete performance this year," head coach Matt Hanna said. "Im very happy with the attack and how they possessed the ball."

DuPage (6-1-1) returns home to host McHenry County College on Thursday, Sept. 25, at Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.
