The No. 1 College of DuPage football team continued its dominant 2026 campaign with a 44-6 victory over Hocking College on Oct. 17 at Bob MacDougall Field. The Chaparrals celebrated Military and First Responder Appreciation Day on a beautiful fall afternoon in Glen Ellyn.
DuPage once again relied on its ground game, finishing with 278 rushing yards while spreading the workload among five running backs who recorded at least four carries.
Yven Quenum led the way with 100 yards on seven carries, including a touchdown, while
Damari Jones added 64 yards and two touchdowns on eight attempts.
The Chaparrals' offensive line consistently created running lanes, allowing DuPage to control the game on the ground and keep the Hocking defense under pressure throughout the afternoon.
Quarterback
Reed Myers directed the passing attack with 127 yards and a touchdown.
Dwaylon Richardson was his primary target, hauling in three receptions for 70 yards, including a 45-yard touchdown catch that added to the Chaparrals' offensive production.
DuPage's defense and special teams also played a significant role in the victory. The Chaparrals recorded their third safety in two weeks after a botched Hocking long snap resulted in another scoring opportunity for the home team.
Jayden Pittman added a 12-yard fumble-return touchdown, while
Sterling Williams intercepted a pass to help disrupt the Hawks' offense.
Lashawn Gathright and
Nate Snep each recorded a sack, and
Chris Ellen paced the Chaparrals with five tackles, including two tackles for loss.
The defensive performance continued a season-long trend for DuPage, which is allowing just 12 points per game in 2026.
The Chaparrals will return to action Saturday, Oct. 31, when they host Sussex County Community College at Bob MacDougall Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
