After a double-digit win campaign in 2025, the College of DuPage men's soccer team has high aspirations for the 2026 season. The Chaps will look to bounce back in their home opener on Aug. 27 against Elgin Community College after falling 4-2 at Marian-Ancilla College in their season opener.
The contest remained tight throughout, but the Chargers were able to create some separation late in the match. Sophomore goalkeeper Sam Eaton recorded 11 saves on 19 shots from the Marian-Ancilla attack.
Sophomore Uli Huerta and freshman Matthew Kralik scored the goals for the Chaps, while freshmen Leo Posada and Brody Parchem each recorded an assist.
DuPage will return home for its first match of the season on Thursday, Aug. 27, against Elgin Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
Fans can expect a fast-paced and entertaining style of play from the Chaps this fall, something head coach Matt Hanna hopes will draw both fans and students to Bjarne Ullsvik Stadium.
"I want us to be a team that if you haven't played soccer or you haven't watched soccer, I want them to watch us and go, 'Wow, that was fun to watch,'" Hanna said. "Our motto with this team is just go out and play our style and entertain people."
