The College of DuPage men's soccer team earned its first victory of the season Thursday, defeating Harper College 3-1 in Palatine.

The Chaps matched their highest scoring output of the season while also matching their best defensive effort of the year.

DuPage opened the scoring in the 18th minute before adding two more goals in the second half in the 66th and 69th minutes.

Brody Parchem scored the opening goal, while Aiden Caldera and Anthony Juarez added second-half goals.

Caldera also recorded an assist and two shots on goal, while Juarez finished with three shots on goal.

Emiliano Bermudez added an assist.

The Chaps finished with six total shots, putting four on goal and converting three of those opportunities.

Diego Ochoa played all 90 minutes in goal, facing 13 shots and making six saves.

DuPage improves to 1-5-1 and will return home Sept. 23 to host Kankakee Community College. The Chaps have split the last four meetings with the Cavaliers, including a 3-1 loss at Kankakee last season.
