MJ IGNACEK (2000-2002)
MJ Ignacek starred for Hall of Fame coach Dr. Thomas Earl Reed and helped lead the Chaparrals to the 2002 NJCAA Division III National Championship. A First Team All-American, MJ led COD in scoring during both of their seasons, while also leading the team in steals and rebounds as a guard. They were a two-time All-Conference and Region IV All-Tournament selection.
JESSICA PANCOSKA (1999, 2001)
Jessica Pancoska was one of the most accomplished runners in College of DuPage history, helping lead the Chaparrals to a national championship while earning six All-American honors. At the 2001 NJCAA National Championships, she captured titles in the 800 meters and 1500 meters, while also running on three championship relay teams. She served as team captain and helped set a record in the 4x800 relay that stood until 2025.
DR. JOE PALMIERI (1967-1980)
Dr. Joseph "Joe" Palmieri served as the College's first Athletic Director from 1966 - 1979, building the framework for Chaparral athletics during the school's formative years. He hired many of the original coaches who became legends, including Hall of Famers Don Klaas, Bob McDougal, Dave Webster, and Herb Salberg. Under his leadership, COD earned national recognition four times in the 1970s as one of the NJCAA's most productive programs.
HERB SALBERG (1967-1992)
Herb Salberg served as a coach, Athletic Director, and administrator from 1967 to 1992. As hockey coach, he compiled a 237-83-9 record and led the Chaparrals to three NJCAA National Championships. He also coached golf teams to multiple conference and regional titles. As Athletic Director, he helped expand the department and spearheaded the creation of the athletic facility still used today.
DEMOND BROWN (1999-2001)
A two-time All-American for Hall of Fame coach Don Klaas, Demond Brown helped lead College of DuPage to the 2000 NJCAA Division III National Championship game. He finished his career second all-time in rebounds with 668, eighth in scoring with 952 points, and set a school record with 19 rebounds in a game.
GUY SCIORTINO (1996-1998)
Guy Sciortino was one of the most decorated golfers in College of DuPage history, helping lead the Chaparrals to back-to-back NJCAA Division III National Championships. A two-time First Team All-American and two-time Conference Player of the Year, Guy won 13 tournaments during his COD career, including seven in one season. Nationally, he finished fifth individually one year and third the next.
