Jake Roberts begins his first season as an assistant coach in 2024, bringing a wealth of collegiate and professional play.
The Plainfield native completed his collegiate career as an All-West Coast Conference selection catcher for Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. His senior season included leading the WCC in slugging percentage (.449), while hitting .290 and also earning WCC Academic and All-Tournament honors, all in 2017.
That summer, he signed a free agent contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, where he played for their Arizona League franchise. He earned an instructional invite and remained at the Dodgers’ Spring Training facility in Glendale, Ariz., where he assisted the Dodgers’ injured players during the parent-team’s MLB postseason in 2017.
