Former COD standout Javier Martinez begins his second season as an assistant coach in 2020 after completing his collegiate career last spring at Northwood University. He works primarily with catchers and hitters.
 
Martinez led the nation in RBI with 74 for COD in 2015. At Northwood, he helped the Timberwolves to consecutive Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference regular-season and tournament championships in 2017-18, and a pair of NCAA Division II appearances. He was a second-team All-GLIAC designated hitter in 2018.
