Keith Kinzler, who spent 25 seasons as an assistant coach at Joliet Junior College under Joe Kuhn, begins his first season with the Chaparrals in 2022-23.
 
At JJC, Kinzler helped lead the Wolves to three NJCAA Division III title game appearances, capped by their 2010 national championship. JJC made seven national tournament appearances, and won six Region IV and eight N4C crowns in those 25 seasons.
 
Kinzler played at Joliet from 1991-93 and ranks among the top players in school history. He remains second in career rebounds (861) and second in single-season rebounds (502 — 1992-93). The All-N4C and Region 4 honoree averaged a double-double in his career, scoring 10.6 points and grabbing 12.3 boards a game in 70 career games.
 
The 6-foot-9 Kinzler established an NJCAA Division II tournament record for most rebounds in a game (22) in 1991-92. One year later, he broke his record with 23 boards, a record the remains today.
 
Kinzler attended NCAA Division I Morehead State where he played under the late Dick Fick. He is a 1999 graduate of Joliet Catholic Academy.
 
Kinzler, who is vice president of family-owned Kinzler’s Janitorial Service, resides in Shorewood with his wife Tiffeny. They are the parents of three children: Kyle, Kailey and Khloe.
