Zac Ludwig, who served as both head coach for men's and women's soccer beginning in 2021, begins his fourth year as men's head coach in 2024 after stepping down from the women's position upon conclusion of the 2022 season.

He began his COD career as head women's coach in 2019 after two years at Kishwaukee College (2018-19), where he helped kick-start the women's soccer program as the head coach during the program's inaugural season.

 

Ludwig, a Phoenix, Ariz., native, played collegiate soccer at Kansas Wesleyan University. After graduating with a bachelor's degree in business, he worked as an assistant coach for both the men's and women's teams at Kansas Wesleyan.

Ludwig later served in collegiate coaching roles as the head coach at Paradise Valley Community College in Arizona and as an assistant coach at Aurora University. Additionally, he has been a head coach for the Olympic Development Programs in Arizona and Illinois; senior coach in the youth program for the New York Red Bulls; assistant coach at Washington High School in Phoenix, and as a director and coach at a variety of youth clubs in Arizona, New York and Illinois.

 

Ludwig continues to serve as a coaching educator and mentor for coaches of all levels through his own consulting company, Switching the Field, and as an instructor of coaching licenses and diplomas for U.S. Soccer and United Soccer Coaches. He holds a U.S. Soccer A License and Instructor License, as well as a United Soccer Coaches Premier Diploma and Advanced National Goalkeeping Diploma.
