Jason Hyatt

Jason Hyatt begins his 23rd season as the Chaparrals men’s golf coach and his fourth as women's head coach in 2025-26. 
 
Hyatt has coached the Chaparrals to 13 Region IV titles (2003-2004, 2012-14, 2016-2017, 2019, 2021-22-23-24-25). The program boasts 40 All-Americans in its history with three national titles (1996-98). The Chaparrals have won 24 regional titles in their history with Hyatt playing a role on 15 championship teams as a player or coach.

The Hyatt-coached Chaps have brought home hardware five times from the NJCAA Championship at its long-time home in Chautauqua, N.Y. The Chaps placed third in 2014, 2022, 2023, 2024 and 2025.

COD's Ivy Burnett claimed medalist honors at the 2025 national tournament and coach's daughter, Aubrye finished third.

Hyatt played two seasons for the Chaparrals and is the most honored player in school history. He won the NJCAA Division III championship in 1998 for the Chaps and played on their national championship teams in 1997 and 1998. He earned his bachelor’s degree in business management from Iowa State University in 2001.

He was inducted into the College of DuPage Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019, becoming the first in his sport to be so honored. He was named to the NJCAA Golf Coaches Hall of Fame in 2022 and also is a member of the Region 4 Hall of Fame for his playing and coaching efforts.
 
Hyatt is a PGA Teaching Professional at Cantigny Golf, a 27-hole course with an all-season golf academy in Wheaton. The Chaps practice and host their annual tournament at Cantigny, located west of COD in the village of Winfield.
 
Hyatt and his wife Gretchen are the parents of daughters, Aubreye and Nora, and make their home in Aurora.
