Jim Bowers enters his 24th season coaching the Chaparrals' tennis programs in 2025-26 with a level of national success for both the men's and women's programs.
The Chaparrals have totaled six national championships under Bowers, who began his career at COD in 2002. The Chaps' men won three consecutive NJCAA Division III titles (2003-05) and the women won three in four seasons (2007-08, 10).
Bowers has taught overseas in Germany and Malaysia, where he was an assistant coach for Malaysia's Davis & Fed Cup Teams. During the winter, he coaches and hosts USTA tournaments at the Vaughan Athletic Center in Aurora, The Oak Lawn Racquet Club, and Elmhurst Courts Plus Club. Bowers is also a paddle/platform coach at the Salt Creek Club in Hinsdale.
