Patrick Shaughnessy just missed on a triple double, and David Spell scored 21 points, but it was not enough as visiting College of DuPage lost 100-88 against Wright College in N4C play Wednesday night.
 
Shaughnessy dealt 11 assists and grabbed 11 rebounds with seven points, and Spell added 11 rebounds for the Chaps, now 1-13 overall and 0-3 N4C.
 
COD dressed nine and all scored at least six points. Reginald Smith scored 11 and Jason Peace added 10. Jordan Devitt added nine, and Franklin Montgomery, Austin Esterly and Evan Wagner-Talley each scored eight. Donnell Fraley had six points.
 
The Chaps totaled a season-high 32 assists with Montgomery and Spell helping the cause with six apiece.
 
The Rams dressed five and were led by Antonio Newman's 26 points. D'Andre Payne hit all seven shots – six 3-pointers – for 20 points.
 
The Chaparrals make their N4C home debut Saturday afternoon against Harper College. Tip-off is 3 p.m.
