Road win

Box Score ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (Oct. 5, 2019) — A stout defensive effort and a key second quarter were the difference makers in the Chaparrals' 20-3 win over host Erie (N.Y.) College in NJCAA football Saturday afternoon.

Coach Matt Foster's team allowed just 162 yards of offense (98 passing yards, 64 rushing yards).

The Chaps grabbed control early in the second quarter, thanks to their nine-play, 90-yard drive capped by Isaiah Nwokenkwo's 10-yard TD run.

After Erie's Dawson Evitts nailed a 21-yard field goal, the Chaps carved a 68-yard drive in seven plays. QB Brayden Miller connected with Josh Benson for a 27-yard strike and the Chaps led 14-3 at halftime.

RB Lavale Hill gave the Chaps their final TD — a 4-yard run with 41 seconds to go in the game.

Miller threw for 134 yards on 7 of 17 passing with one touchdown and two interceptions. Hill led the Chaps on the ground with 73 yards on 13 carries with one TD. Nwokenkwo gained 58 yards and scored a TD.
