Game Recap: Men's Basketball | | Mark Reinhiller, Sports Information Coordinator

Stretch time favors Waubonsee

Thirty minutes of back-and-forth play favored the Chaparrals in their game against Waubonsee College on Saturday afternoon. However, the final 10 were the difference in a 75-64 loss in NJCAA men's basketball.

Difference maker

The Chaparrals, who never led, were within a point of the lead when reserve Abram Ross got free inside for a basket with 9:51 left and Waubonsee up 50-49. A 9-0 run by the Chiefs over the next three and a half minutes created separation and the Chaps never threatened again.

Mr. Esterly
Sophomore Austin Esterly scored 13 first-half points thanks to three 3-pointers. He finished with a team-high 16 points and led the Chaps in rebounds with nine for his most complete game of the season.

A pair of 10s
Isaiah Davis and Patrick Shaughnessy each scored in double figures with 10 each. Joe Bell had seven points and five boards, while Khyre Hines and Latron Kirkwood each had six.

What's next?

The Chaps (0-8) are off until Dec. 3 when they host Kishwaukee College.
